The twins Dean and Dan Gaten, who were born in Toronto in 1964, became interested in fashion at an early age. At the age of 30, the two took the step to Europe and founded their label DSQUARED2. The name is made up of the names of the two founders, the “2” stands for “D squared”, as well as for Dean and Dan.
When you meet the two brothers, it is almost impossible to tell who is Dean and who is Dan, as they look so similar. This is not only because they are identical twins, but also because the two always appear in partner looks when they appear together. The two fundamentally have completely different views on fashion.
